Stephen J. Schwab

Lieutenant Steve Schwab is a 32-year veteran of law enforcement with the Columbus, Ohio, Division of Police and a certified firearms instructor.  He has worked a number of assignments to include Patrol, Communications, S.W.A.T., and the Strategic Response Bureau.

As an officer he served as a scout, rifleman, point man,  gasman while assigned to the S.W.A.T. Section.  In 1990 he was promoted to Sergeant and had the opportunity to serve as a SWAT Team Leader. In 1995 Steve was promoted to Lieutenant and is currently assigned to the Training Bureau where he heads the Basic Training Section charged with overseeing recruit training program, ordnance units and police reserves. He  is also the commander of the Columbus Police Honor Guard which is a part time unit staffed by 12 sergeants and 38 officers. 

Steve has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Capital University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
